Reorganization of Student Life

The Office of Student Life is currently undergoing changes in personnel and procedures, a situation that students involved in clubs and organizations will need to be aware of in regards to events and activities. Gregory Fenkart, Coordinator of Student Life, has announced the provisory changes that have already been put into effect.

Violet Surdyka, former Department Secretary, has accepted a position as Acting Coordinator of the Veterans Affairs Office. The task of assisting students with the planning of club events will be delegated to part-time Department Secretary Nicole Babington, who will be available to students Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 9:30a.m. to 5:00p.m.

Keven Simeon, former Student Life Specialist, has accepted a position outside of BCC, and the school is currently in search of a replacement. For the time being, all club information paperwork, such as club constitutions and member lists, will be handled by Fenkart himself, who will also be temporarily be in charge of the office's budget and supervision of club payment requests.

Fenkart assures students that the office is working to minimize the impact that these changes will have on students, and to ensure that services retain the same quality. In addition to a distribution of tasks among the remaining office personnel, student aides have been hired to assist while new staff can be found, to whom responsibilities can be delegated permanently. However, the office is still going to be subject to procedural changes in the near future, and students are encouraged to seek assistance by contacting staff via e-mail or to visit the office, located in room SC110 of the Student Center, during office hours.
