Former VP. Ron Milon playing traffic guard with the BCC Shuttles

By Blair DeLong, News Editor

On Monday 13, 2014, the BCC Shuttle will not be operating on its normal schedule, or in fact, at all. The 13th is Columbus Day, and while BCC will still be in session, the Bergen County government will not be.

Dean of Student Life and Judicial Affair Nestor Melendez said, “The BCC Shuttle is provided through a grant that the college initiated in response to requests from the students and the efforts of the SGA. The grant names Community Transportation Services of Bergen County as the provider of the shuttles/drivers/services.”

When asked why the shuttle wouldn’t be available during Columbus Day, Melendez continued by saying, “… they adhere to the nationally recognized holiday schedules, and as such, they do shut down on those days.”

Community Transportation Services of Bergen County has yet to issue a comment on any alternative means for students to be transported from the Lyndhurst and Paramus campuses.

Any questions about future stoppage of the Shuttle Service please e-mail erondello@co.bergen.nj.us, or check the BCC Facebook Page for any changes.
