Last Thursday, three students were shot in Florida University library by the alleged gunman, Myron May. Students of Florida University were confused when they heard gunshots coming from their school’s library. At first, they believed that the sounds were just textbooks getting thrown to the ground. However, once the confusion alerted the people in the library, students started to run and scream, “Call 911”. Over 300 students were in the library, studying for final exams, when the shooting took place.

Myron May, the alleged shooter of the three students, was a Florida State University alumnus and an attorney. However, the identities of the victims have still not been released.May wounded three students, after opening fire. One was treated at the scene for a graze wound. “The other two were hospitalized, one critical and the other in good condition,” said a spokeswoman at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare hospital.

After 12:30 a.m., officers confronted the shooter and ordered him to drop his weapon, however, police said, that they eventually shot him when May opened fire.

Campus security was amplified and classes were cancelled. Police are still investigating the shooter’s intention. A video was posted from inside FSU’s Strozier Library by Jessica Davis on Facebook. A person can be heard over the intercom notifying the students about the shooting and telling them to call 911 if anyone had been shot.
